We want to make sure that you get the best deal possible when printing your small booklet. It is innitially important to determine the quantity needed for your small booklet printing project. A quantity of less than 500, qualifies as a short run print job and will be more cost effective when printed on a digital press. Long run quantities of over 500, will be more cost effective when run on a sheetfed offset press. As your printer we will advise you as to what type of printing would offer you the best quality and price.

Design

When designing a booklet consider the small size and use that to your advantage. Avoid cluttering the pages with too much text or too many images. Sometimes less is more. Each page can be considered an individual page broken up by the fold line or they can be designed as full spreads!

Marketing

The size of the booklet may be small however the type of marketing concept you choose doesn’t need to be! Strong headlines and graphics can help your small booklet take on a life of its own. Small booklets give you a limited area to present a big message. Consider your audience when deciding upon color choices and font sizes. Don't be tempted to believe that smaller font sizes are needed because of the small catalog size.   A 12 point font should the smallest font used throughout your booklet.

Color

Stock

There are several paper options to choose from. 100# gloss text is one our most popular options. It is a heavier, high quality stock. 80# gloss text and 80# gloss cover are also available. This stock is great for a small booklet with a thicker cover. Aqueous or UV coating can be added to any of these booklets to create a high quality finish. Custom stocks are available by filling out a custom quote form.

Size

A size that works well for small booklet printing is 8.5 X 5.5. You can make this a booklet with a little as 8 pages and more than 48 pages! The small size is easy to carry, but can still make a great impact!  The custom quote form can again be used to request a size that is not currently offered on printlion.com.

Services

Binding is an important service for small booklets. In addition to printing services, we offer saddle stitch binding and perfect binding. Saddle stitching is recommended for most small booklets because their small size and how cost effective it is. Perfect binding is generally suggested for booklets with many pages.
