What if I have a multiple page document?

If your project is double sided or a multiple page document, please save your pages as a single PDF in the exact order that you would like them to print. Ex: Front Cover = page 1, Inside Front Cover = page 2

How should my files be color formatted?

When designing full color files, please design using CMYK (4 color process; Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black). A grayscale color mode should be used when submitting black and white graphics or images.

Your monitor is currently configured using RGB (Red, Green and Black) color process. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) color formatting is the preferred method used for four color process printing. CMYK has the ability to reproduce the color of your graphics exactly. If your artwork was created in RBG, please convert it to CMYK before uploading. After conversion, please review your colors, as they may need adjusted.

Any files that are sent as LAB, RGB or have additional PMS (Pantone colors) will be returned to the client. If you need us to convert the files for you, there is a chance that a color change/shift will occur. This commonly happens in blues and browns.

What is bleed?

Bleed is a printing term that refers to printing that goes beyond the edge of the sheet after trimming. The bleed is the part on the side of your document that gives the printer that small amount of space to move around paper and design inconsistencies.

Can my file have bleeds?

Yes…If you need assistance setting up your bleed please refer to our free design templates. If you are submitting files and not using our templates, it is important that you include a 1/8" bleed on all four sides of your document. If including crop marks, please make sure to center your document within the PDF.

What is the Safety Line?

As you are designing your printed material, keep in mind that any images or text should be placed within the safety or trim areas as noted on our free templates or 1/8" of an inch in from the final cut.

What are the file types that you can accept?

We accept all file types. EPS and PDF are our standard preferred format, and will allow you to receive a Free PDF proof in just minutes.

.pdf PDF preserves fonts and formatting electronically across multiple platforms and will reproduce on the screen as on printed paper.

.eps EPS is an encapsulated postscript file. EPS can be processed through Illustrator or Photoshop. The preferred output when using Illustrator

Can you work with Word and Publisher Documents?

Yes…However these files should be converted to a PDF document when uploading for electronic ordering. If your file is uploaded as a Word or Publisher document, a print professional will contact and assist you with your order.

Do you need flattened files?

Photshop files should be flattened.

Do I need to outline my fonts?

Files created using Illustrator, InDesign or Freehand require that text be converted to outlines before saving as a PDF file. Photshop files should be flattened. Font sizes should be 8 pts and higher. Avoid using small or very narrow fonts with dark backgrounds as they do not print well.

What is Saddle-Stitch?

Saddle-Stitched is a method of securing loose printed pages with staples down the middle of a folded sheaf of papers.

What is plastic coil binding?

A continuous coil of wire or plastic passes through many die cut holes along one side of the papers.

Should I remove the lines that are on the free template?

Yes…These trim and bleed lines will print if left on the file.

What if my file is an exact reprint?

A list of all your previous jobs is available when signing into your account. Use the specs of the job you want to reprint, when placing your order online. You may also contact us, referencing the job number you'd like to reprint.

How should I create a heavy black background?

When creating full coverage black backgrounds make sure to create the black at 50% Cyan, 30% Magenta, 30% Yellow and 100% Black.
